Streszczenie: Paula Rego's oeuvre has exerted a big influence on the development of figurative art in Europe from the middle of the 1950s to the present day. Since Rego's celebrated solo exhibition at Tate Britain in London in 2021, and her participation in the 59th Venice Biennale in 2022, interest in her art has increased – this is likely due to the universal appeal of her expressive, figurative style, the force and compellingness of her visual narrations, and the social relevance of her subject matter.
